REIWA appoints First AML as preferred AML compliance provider for WA members

Perth, Australia, October 13, 2025 – The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) today announced it has appointed First AML as its preferred anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) compliance provider for members across Western Australia.

As the peak industry body representing over 1,350 member agencies – more than 90 per cent of the state’s real estate sector – and 9,700 individual members, REIWA plays a central role in supporting a stable property market across all sectors. This new partnership builds on REIWA’s proud history as a PropTech pioneer, ensuring members are equipped with the tools and guidance needed to adapt to Tranche 2 reforms.

REIWA President Suzanne Brown said: “REIWA has always championed innovation and practical solutions for our members. With Tranche 2, agencies are facing one of the biggest regulatory shifts our sector has ever seen. We know compliance cannot come at the cost of efficiency or service to clients."

"First AML brings proven technology and hands-on expertise that make compliance achievable in day-to-day agency life. This partnership gives our members confidence that they can meet their new obligations while continuing to deliver the service standards Western Australians expect.”

First AML’s platform supports agencies across the full compliance lifecycle – including identity verification, ownership structure analysis, automated risk assessments, ongoing monitoring and secure record keeping. Through partnerships with Alpha AML Training and One AML, WA members will also benefit from integrated training and advisory support tailored to the real estate sector.

First AML CEO Milan Cooper said: “We’re proud to work with REIWA, an institute with such a strong history of advocacy and innovation. Western Australia’s real estate sector is unique in its scale and diversity, spanning everything from residential to agricultural. REIWA’s leadership ensures its members have a clear and practical path forward to meet their AML obligations well ahead of 1 July 2026.”

To support the rollout, REIWA and First AML will deliver a staged education programme over the coming months. This will include tailored webinars, in-person events and regular updates aligned with AUSTRAC milestones, giving members the knowledge and confidence to embed AML/CTF processes across their businesses.
